Anxiety sufferers who think that they can only get help from the three P’s Pills, Potions and Psychologists, end up becoming Anxiously Passive because they are passively waiting until the therapist ‘fixes’ them and are not in control of their own internal changes.

- They can’t replicate what a therapist does so are passive in the whole process. So even if you have a great therapist, you can’t replicate what they do do so your anxiety progress is tied to the therapists skill and not yours.
- They can only work to the amount you can afford, and for all the will in the world, a very tiny percentage can afford to pay for the length of time it takes to be anxiety free
- The passive clients has to put up with feeling anxious because they aren’t learning how to really lessen their anxiety, but only how to keep treading water until their next session
- Self help books gives the anxiety sufferer hope, some tips and techniques and lots of motivation to keep hanging in until they no longer feel anxious. But these tips and tactics are only temporary and the sufferer has to then go and buy yet another book.
- Self help books can be useful in the short term, but as they receive no feedback, how they apply what they learn is a hit and miss affair.
- Because self help tactics can be hit and miss, the anxiety sufferer can also reinforce some false assumptions that can inadvertently dig their anxiety even deeper
